If this is the case, you could potentially have a water leak. However, no need to worry, there are a few ways to check if you have a water leak.

So how can you tell if you have a water leak?

  • Firstly, ensure no water is being used inside or outside of your house. Turn off all taps, dishwasher, washing machine, lawn sprinkler, etc.

  • Locate your water meter and check the number reading to see if it is moving. If it is - you obviously have a leak somewhere on the property.

  • You can also take a meter reading - then wait 1 or 2 hours and take another meter reading. (Again make sure no water is being used during this time). If the meter has moved - then you have a leak.

If you find you have a hidden water leak on your property, keep your eyes peeled for any damp areas inside or outside your property, any water stains on your walls and any green areas on your lawn.

Sometimes water leaks are very small or in places that may not indicate visually where it is. You will need to call a qualified plumber who specialises in leak detection to pinpoint the leak, then repair the issue for you.

Call a qualified Brisbane plumber or a Gold Coast plumber to find and fix your water leaks.
