Gratitude

Gratitude is the 'quality of being thankful; readiness to show appreciation for and return to kindness'. Now more than ever, it is vital to show gratitude not only as a business but as people living amongst each other.

With this kind of mindset, positive light will be shed on your mindset and you can retrain yourself and you can retrain your thinking to focus on what you have and what you can do.

In times like these, especially where everything in your life and even the world seems to be going wrong – it can be really helpful to take a step back and look at your situation from an outside perspective. While COVID-19 has essentially stopped the world, there are still many things to be grateful for. As Australian’s, we are so lucky to live on our island home because as the data shows, we are less affected than countries in Asia and Europe as we don’t have different countries bordering us from every side.

We have stopped more than 95% of air traffic and since then, we have started to flatten the curve. We should be grateful that we have a government that can still look after us in these tough times and we are lucky that almost all of us have a roof over our heads and spare change in our wallet.

It can be really difficult to find the silver lining in events like we are facing now, but it can do wonders for your mindset, attitude and outlook on the world. Not only will you feel better as a person, but everyone around you will want to be around you more as you are spreading positive energy and making them feel good about themselves as well. Start off with little things, wake up in the morning and think of three things that you are grateful for.

As you go through your daily schedule, thank those that are supporting you and show appreciation even for things that you don’t think need to be said – say thanks to whoever made you dinner or folded your clothes!
