Jetset replaced a cracked sewer pipe for me on 13th August 2020 and charged me over $10,000 Whilst taken aback by this, I knew no different at he time.
They wanted to charge more on top because they wanted me to pay to have my established Palm tree disposed of, when I queried why it was so expensive they said because they were disposing of it in Brisbane because that is where the truck driver is from (Since when is his location an impact on my costs?). When I told them to take it off the truck and my gardener would remove for free, they backpedaled very quickly and said they would do that part for free (Established palms go for a pretty penny when resold so I am told more recently).
The repair was supposed to come with annual inspections and cleanout of the repaired area.
This happened ONCE.
Now, 3.5 years later our drains started blocking. We called a different plumber who scoped the repaired area. he has he informed me of the following:
1) That original repair should have been no more than $4,000 - $4,500 INCLUDING the tree removal.
2) The recent blockage is because the repair (which I have the camera footage of) is of terrible workmanship and was commented thus: "Junction appears to be flat before it runs into the earthenware this is likely to buildup and caused the blockage".
My recent plumber was amazing and built me a little jetting tool that should be enough for me to just spray the area myself every year or so to keep it clear. But honestly, why should I have to do this on a $10,000 repair job?
I will never use Jetset again, I will never recommend them to anyone, in fact, I will strongly recommend to everyone that they avoid this company at all costs.
Update: Within a couple of days of posting this review I received a call from Jetset to see how they could assist and possibly change my feeling like they had failed me.
First up, I was thanked for the honest feedback and they were very specific that they don't want me to delete or change my review but if I feel like I have been adequately taken care of after the process just to add an update.
This gave me more confidence with this business as they aren't trying to hide anything or buy good reviews, more they are trying to show that like anyone, they can make mistakes from time to time but it's in our resolution of mistakes that we really show what we are made of.
Jetset explained that I would be reimbursed for the most recent plumber I called out no questions asked as they can see they failed to send a plumber out each year for a complimentary inspection and this could have been avoided. There has been a system issue impacting a small number of users (me included) where we dropped off the scheduling system *If this has happened to you, CALL THEM, they will resolve it*.
An experienced plumber was organized to come to mine within a couple of days to inspect the work that had been carried out prior and to talk me through everything so that I have an understanding of what I paid for and if it is indeed fair (it is).
He noted a small change that could be made and sent another plumber out the same day to sand some resin and bur from around the repair site to ensure the smoothest path to the sewer possible. Of course none of this cost me anything.
The only thing that couldn't be explained was the initial request to charge me for tree disposal. I have my own thoughts on this but it isn't against Jetset Plumbing the business.
I have been further (unexpectedly) compensated for the inconvenience and time to a level I am extremely happy with.
When it comes to mistake resolution, Jetset have the right people (I dealt with Jake and Jordyn) to guide you through and help get the customer to a point where they are satisfied that they have been taken care of.
Thankyou Jetset for understanding and resolving my issue. After yesterdays service and thorough explanation, I would actually recommend Jetset Plumbing as a great choice for plumbing needs in the future.
