Pipe relining creates a new structural lining inside an existing damaged drain. Where the pipe and site are suitable, it can repair cracks, holes, displaced joints and tree-root entry points without excavating the full pipe run.

Pipe relining is a trenchless repair method for damaged drains. A resin-saturated liner is positioned inside the existing pipe and pressed against its internal wall while it cures. Once set, the liner forms a strong new pipe section within the old drain.
The method can avoid extensive digging through gardens, driveways, paths, floors or other finished areas. It is not automatically the right answer for every drain, so we first clean and inspect the pipe to confirm its condition, access, diameter and alignment.
Relining may be considered when CCTV footage shows localised cracks, holes, leaking joints, tree-root entry or deterioration in a pipe that can still support the liner. It is often valuable where excavation would be disruptive or costly.
A collapsed, severely deformed or incorrectly graded drain may need excavation or replacement instead. Our Brisbane drainage plumbers explain what the camera shows and compare the practical options before recommending a repair.
| Pipe relining | Traditional replacement |
|---|---|
| Repairs the pipe internally | Removes and replaces the damaged pipe |
| Usually requires limited access points | Requires access along the excavation area |
| Can preserve landscaping and hard surfaces | May require surfaces to be removed and reinstated |
| Best for structurally suitable drain sections | May be required for collapsed or badly graded pipes |

Every drain is different, but a suitable relining project generally follows these stages.
High-pressure water jetting removes roots, scale and debris so the pipe wall can be inspected and prepared.
A CCTV drain camera records the damage and helps confirm the location, dimensions and suitability for relining.
A liner is prepared for the required pipe section, saturated with resin and placed across the damaged area.
An inflatable bladder presses the resin-filled liner against the existing pipe wall so it takes the correct shape.
The liner remains in position while it cures. The bladder is then deflated and removed, leaving the new internal pipe section.
A final CCTV inspection checks the finished liner and confirms the repaired drain section is ready for service.

Rating
Eligible pipe relining work completed by Jetset Plumbing is supported by a 25-year guarantee on the specified workmanship and lining product. The exact relined sections, inclusions, maintenance requirements and applicable terms are documented with the project.
We use a WaterMark-approved Brawoliner relining system selected for repairing a range of pipe materials, diameters and configurations. Suitability is confirmed from the site inspection and drain-camera findings.
It can seal suitable cracks and joints where roots have entered. The roots are removed and the drain is cleaned first. If the pipe has collapsed or moved too far out of alignment, another repair method may be needed.
Some sewer and stormwater drains can be relined. Pipe material, diameter, access, condition, junctions and fall all need to be assessed before confirming suitability.
Many projects need little or no excavation along the damaged pipe run, but access points or local excavation may still be necessary. We explain the proposed access before quoting the work.
Timing depends on cleaning, access, the number and length of repairs, curing requirements and the condition of the drain. The proposed schedule is provided after inspection.
Service life depends on the liner system, installation, pipe use and site conditions. Eligible Jetset Plumbing relining work carries the stated 25-year guarantee, subject to its documented terms.
We clean the drain and use a CCTV camera to locate and record cracks, holes, joints, roots, deformation and other faults inside the pipe.
Cost depends on access, pipe diameter, repair length, number of damaged sections and site conditions. We provide a project price after the drain has been assessed.
