Reliable and honest

I would recommend this group - the first quote I was given for relining my pipes was $54k - yep !! Jetset did it for $20k

Same job done better and less than half the price

Definitely use Jetset
Fast and efficient service from Keith, would highly recommend
I called Jet Set Plumbing for my place in Varsity Lakes and Reece came. Reece was amazing. He went above and beyond. I called to just look at the downpipe but he inspected the sewage, the taps inside the house and provided a full comprehensive assessment - without me even asking. After everything he called much later to even check in to ensure everything was okay. I would recommend Jet Set Plumbing and Reece to everyone. Amazing customer service - the best.
After buying our first home, we had a wide variety of plumbing works needing to be done, and quickly. We saw the Jetset team and the overwhelmingly positive google reviews and went with the crowd. Boy are we glad we did.

This team has blown my socks off with how excellent their service and professionalism is. From start to finish, they provided clear and consise information about each job they completed, and did amazing work all the way along.

To top it off, we recieved a lovely little gift in the mail a month after all was completed, that we use every day.

Can't thank the team enough for their work and would encourage anyone to use Jetset in the future.
I’d like to thank Mitch of GC Jetset Plumbing for the excellent and meticulous workmanship, professionalism, prompt and on time service. Mitch showed willingness to share his knowledge and expertise for me to understand the job at hand and was up front and committed to his quote, start to finish. My weekend will be spent swanning past my bathroom to stare at my new toilet system and enjoy the peace of no running water , overflow or hissing 😂 Thank you Mitch and thank you Jetset Plumbing for your prompt service response.
I recently had Jetset Plumbing replace my hot water system, and I couldn't be happier with the service. Communication was excellent from start to finish, and Tom took the time to clearly (and kindly) explain the issues with my electrical system in a way that was easy to understand. The whole team was friendly, professional, and efficient. I highly recommend Jetset Plumbing, and a big thank you for the thoughtful surprise gift—it was such a lovely touch!
Jetset plumbing upgraded my 18 year old failing hot water system. Liam was assigned the job of replacing the system. He was very professional, polite and kept me informed of his progress. His workmanship was excellent and he left the site clean and tidy. Prior to completing the job he explained the key maintenance tasks that I needed to do every six months to ensure the system functioned optimally.
Windum (sorry if I spelt it wrong) and Tom were great, and exceptionally friendly. Got a pressure regulator on the main done, and a new hot water system. The job looks great and always kept a smile, even with all the questions I had. Give these lads a well deserved EKO~
Outstanding work from Jetset plumbing from start to finish couldn’t ask for better service, they were flawless Got a quote from Reece one day Then fixed by Dan the next day Just what you need these days. Absolutely legends Give them a call if you want your job done properly✅
A big pat on the back for a considerate helpful person Rhys who reached out to help jump-start our car which was blocking the road. He went out of his way and ensured we got home safely after starting car. Thanks Rhys we need people like you in this world.
Very professional plumber. Found the leak easily and fixed with ease. Went up and beyond to make sure I didn't run late for a appointment. Would recommend them to everyone
As a family we have been greatly impressed by the team at Jetset plumbing, they are professional, caring and go the extra mile, highly recommended is an understatement. After calling another company who quoted over $4000 for a drain fix we called Jetset plumbing for a comparison quote and were pleasantly surprised that their quote for the same work came in at less than a quarter of the cost which enabled us to get some other work done. Rhys spent the time to explain and talk through options providing us with a detailed quote at a great price. From the office crew to the plumbers Jetset plumbing make the whole process a stress less experience. One of our grandchildren was anxious about having people in the house they don’t know, and was disappointed that the plumbers name was not Mario( from Nintendo) the plumbers on the day Jack and Tye were great, they were respectful of his anxiety and very accomodating. We had a hiccup with the new taps that were installed and Rhys went the extra mile to sort out the problem arriving later as ‘Mario’ much to the delight of all the grand children. We were extremely impressed by the thoughtfulness, understanding and kindness shown by all the staff at Jetset who could not have been more helpful but in particular ‘Mario’. Thanks Rhys and Jetset for an outstanding experience.

What Is Backflow?

Backflow is the unwanted reverse movement of water through a plumbing system. It can happen when supply pressure drops and water is drawn backwards, or when pressure on the property side becomes greater than the supply pressure.

If a drinking-water line is connected to irrigation, machinery, a tank, fire services or another potential source of contamination, reverse flow can carry polluted water into the property supply or water main. A correctly selected backflow prevention device creates a barrier against that risk.

When Backflow Protection May Be Required

Backflow requirements depend on the potential contamination hazard and how the water service is connected. Examples identified by Brisbane City Council include:

Irrigation connected to the mains water supply

Fire hose reels

Commercial or industrial machinery connected to mains water

Water outlets near pollutants, chemicals or grease traps

Underground rainwater tanks with mains water backup

Not every property needs the same device. The hazard level, plumbing arrangement and applicable standards determine whether protection is non-testable or testable and which device is appropriate.

Backflow Devices and Hazard Levels

Backflow protection is selected according to the risk posed if reverse flow occurs. Brisbane City Council advises that medium- and high-hazard situations require a testable backflow prevention device. Device selection must be based on the actual installation rather than the device name alone.

Device or protection type What it does
Reduced pressure zone device (RPZ) A testable assembly providing high-level protection for appropriate hazard conditions. It includes a relief zone that can discharge water during operation or a fault.
Double check valve assembly A testable assembly using two check valves. Its suitability depends on the assessed hazard and installation requirements.
Pressure-type vacuum breaker A testable device used for appropriate backsiphonage risks and installed subject to height, location and system requirements.
Registered air gap or break tank Physical separation methods used in suitable applications to prevent contaminated water reaching the drinking-water supply.
Non-testable device Used for lower-risk applications where permitted. It does not follow the same annual registered testing program as a testable device.

Annual Backflow Testing in Brisbane

Brisbane City Council maintains a register of testable backflow prevention devices. Owners of registered testable devices must arrange inspection or testing each year by an endorsed backflow tester and pay the applicable annual Council registration fee.

The endorsed tester records the device and test results on the approved Form 9 and submits the required information to Council. Council states that the tester must submit the results within 10 business days after the inspection or test.

For current owner obligations, notices and registration information, see Brisbane City Council’s backflow prevention guidance.

Backflow Testing Brisbane FAQs

How often must a testable backflow device be tested?

Brisbane City Council requires registered testable backflow prevention devices to be inspected or tested each year by an endorsed backflow tester.

Who can test a backflow prevention device?

Testing, commissioning and maintaining backflow prevention devices requires a plumber with the appropriate backflow prevention endorsement. The QBCC defines this specialist scope separately from a standard plumbing licence.

What happens if my backflow device fails?

The tester explains the defect and whether cleaning, maintenance, component replacement or a new device is appropriate. The device must provide the required protection before a satisfactory result can be recorded.

What is an RPZ valve?

An RPZ, or reduced pressure zone device, is a testable backflow prevention assembly used for appropriate higher-risk applications. It contains check valves and a relief zone designed to protect the upstream water supply.

Why is an RPZ valve discharging water?

Discharge may occur because of pressure conditions, debris, worn internal components or another fault. Because discharge is part of how the relief zone protects the supply, the cause should be assessed rather than the outlet being blocked.

Does every Brisbane home need annual backflow testing?

No. Annual Council testing applies to registered testable devices. Many ordinary residential arrangements use non-testable protection. A plumber can identify the installed device and advise whether it is on the testable-device register.

Will Council remind me when testing is due?

Brisbane City Council says it issues annual registration fee notices and testing reminders to owners of registered testable devices. The owner remains responsible for arranging testing and keeping contact details current.

How much does backflow testing cost?

Cost depends on the device type, size, location, access, condition and whether maintenance or repairs are required. We provide the service price before testing proceeds.

Do you provide backflow testing across Brisbane?

Yes. We arrange backflow testing and related plumbing work across Brisbane City and surrounding suburbs, subject to device details and appointment availability.
