How much do you charge?

Our call out fee and quotes are based on what type of plumbing problem you have. Quotes are done on a case by case basis as each blocked drain or general plumbing repair is different.

How soon can you fix my blocked drain or general plumbing problem?

We guarantee a same day service so if you have a blocked or unclogged drain, need general plumbing repairs or a quote for a kitchen or bathroom refitting, we’ll come and see you on the same day that you contacted us.

How long will it take to fix the problem?

The time it takes to fix the problem will depend on how simple or complicated the problem is. Once we have diagnosed the exact cause and location of the problem (using our drain camera technology if needed), we will be able to give you an estimate of how long it will take to fix the problem or give you a maintenance schedule for longer term solutions.

Who is responsible for a drain or sewer?

If several properties are affected, it’s more than likely that the problem is in the sewer (the ’shared’ drainage pipe) and you should contact your local council to find out how you should progress from there or if the property is under a strata agreement you should contact your Body Corporate.

If a single property is affected it is likely that it is a private drain and it is the responsibility of the owner/occupier to maintain and clear the blocked pipe but if your property is rented, then it is the landlord’s responsibility to unblock the drain.

What are the early detection signs of a blocked drain?

Early detection of a blocked drain can drastically reduce the work involved for a plumber to unblock and clear it, saving you money. There are a few signs to look out for including:

  • a gurgling or gulping sound (often accompanied by a smell) coming from the toilet or sink when water is in use
  • water level in the toilet rising above or falling below normal levels, and/or the drain outside the house overflowing
  • slow draining water or ankle deep water in the shower, bath or sinks.

If you suspect that you have a blocked drain, it is best to contact us to fix the problem as soon as possible to stop the problem from getting worse and costing you more money.

Why do my drains keep on being blocked?

If your drains are persistently being blocked, there may be a bigger problem that is causing the blockage than an obstruction or foreign object clogging your drain. With our drain camera technology, we are able to get to the root of the problem whether it is a simple problem an obstruction or foreign object causing the blockage such as toys or household items or a more serious problem of a broken pipe or tree roots. Using this technology, we can diagnose the problem accurately and give you a quote so you know the cost upfront without having to do any work on your drains.

Other Brisbane and Gold Coast plumbers who do not have access to this technology may be superficially fixing the problem and the drain may be unblocked for a few weeks before the problem starts recurring again. We save you considerable money and time by diagnosing the problem properly at the start and advising you of your options.

What is the added cost of using the drain camera technology?

The cost of using the drain camera technology is included in the initial quote to repair a blocked drain. Our trucks are all fitted with the latest in technology and the drain camera equipment is part of our standard drain cleaning service.

With innovative drain camera technology that will take high resolution images of your drains, we are able to quickly diagnose your plumbing problems, give you accurate quotes before we start work on your drains, clear your blocked pipes in the fastest and most effective way and provide a long term plumbing solution.

You are provided with the video of the sewer or stormwater line for landlords, property managers, and property inspections or just for future reference.

How do I stop my drains from blocking again?

If your blocked or clogged drain was caused by an obstruction or foreign object and not caused by a broken pipe or tree roots, you can avoid drain blockage by following these tips:

  • Plant trees or shrubs should not be planted close to your drains as roots will enter the drains at pipe joints and will eventually cause major damage.
  • Disposable nappies, tampons, sanitary pads or condoms should not be flushed down the toilet as this can block the toilet. These should be disposed of in the household rubbish.
  • Food wastes such as vegetable juices and cooking oils should not be put down the sink as they can block the drains. They can either be disposed of by composting or put in the household rubbish.
  • Leftover household paint, household cleaners and chemicals, motor oils and pesticides should not be put down the drain. They can be disposed of properly at the council tip.
  • Rubble, children’s toys or other objects should not be held close to an inspection chamber in case it falls down a toilet, sink or bathtub or shower.
  • Build up of liquids, hair or other obstructions should be cleared regularly to avoid a longer term blockage.
  • Inspection covers should be accessible and checked regularly to see if they are in good condition.
